How to Play Lettice

Complete the Lettice grid by guessing six intersecting 5-letter words in 15 moves or fewer.

• Words are placed on 3 rows and 3 columns that intersect
• All guesses must be valid 5-letter English words, they may include plurals, such as DIETS or AREAS
• Words won't repeat in a single puzzle
• When a letter is correct, it automatically locks in position on the grid and in subsequent guesses
• If a guess completes any line, it won't cost a guess token

• Think before completing: If you know what letter completes a word, and that letter is shared with another line, consider guessing the intersecting word. You'll get more information and potentially solve multiple lines at once.
• Start with vowel-rich words: Common vowels (A, E, I, O, U) appear frequently and help narrow down possibilities quickly.
• Pay attention to orange letters: These letters must be used somewhere else in the word - they're valuable clues for repositioning. If two intersecting words have the same orange letter, it's very possible that the letter could be at the point of intersection.
• Don't panic! 15 guesses may seem like not enough but the last lines you complete will have many letters already locked down.
